Sculptured docs

CS2680 pattern catalog

Eight original, reusable groups illustrating the course's multi-agent architectures.

Open Community → Browse blocks and search for cs2680. Inspect a block to read the complete jobs, then save a pinned version to your account or download and import it into your private Library.

These are original Sculptured exercises inspired by Juncheng Yang's Agent Design II slides, not copied course code or an endorsement from the course.

BlockSlideWhat to try
Supervisor & workers9Parallel benefit and budget analyses, integrated by one supervisor.
Hierarchical feature team10A feature manager, two leads, and four specialists design a reading list.
Pipeline with feedback11Extract a fictional invoice, check arithmetic, summarize, and allow one correction.
Shared workspace blackboard12Three peers communicate findings through separate versioned files.
Independent review committee13Two independent reviewers send evidence to an editor.
Capability bidding exercise14Fictional workers bid in toy cost/time units; one receives the task.
Peer negotiation swarm15Three peers agree on simulated task ownership without a permanent coordinator.
Dynamic specialist dispatch16A coordinator creates at most two managed specialists for a fictional support ticket.

Before running

Every block is portable: no machine-specific folder, provider model override, or inherited session is included. Select a project folder and review the jobs first. Starting real Codex agents uses your configured provider; browsing and saving do not start agents.

Handoff arrows use the scheduler. Reports-to and watch links express design intent; the role instructions use managed messages and artifacts to coordinate. Intended connections are not proof of observed communication. The dynamic block contains only the coordinator until it actually spawns children in Live.

Maintain the local catalog

The source definitions are in crates/community/src/starter_catalog.rs. The Rust seed_catalog example writes only to the local rigcommunity_local database. It adds immutable versions for changes, skips unchanged blocks, preserves saved versions, and respects unpublished or moderated blocks.

From the repository root:

cargo build --manifest-path crates/community/Cargo.toml --example seed_catalog
# Load the private local service environment for this command only.
set -a
. ~/.sculptured/community-local/service.env
set +a
./crates/community/target/debug/examples/seed_catalog

Do not set COMMUNITY_TEST_DATABASE_URL to this persistent demo database; integration tests use their own disposable database.
